Artist Update -- Mary Reilly
We don't have any photos yet (This one is from a previous trip.) but Mary Reilly is just back from another adventure in India. She goes there to learn more about yoga and get re-invigorated but while she is there, she buys more wonderful and exotic beads and brings them home to make more of her amazing jewelry. Now that she is back, we are expecting some new bracelets, necklaces and earrings REAL SOON.
Mary has already told some of her trip stories on Marty's Red Sky Stage Internet Radio show but we are looking forward to hearing more. For Mary's yoga students, get ready. She has lots of new work for you to do.
New Artwork Alert:: Rosalyn Tyge
Rosalyn Tyge of Traverse City is an outstanding tile maker. She not only makes great tiles but she makes all kinds of amazing creations out of those tiles including tables, mirrors, coat racks, jewelry and now an all-season Michigan ornament.
Made from ceramic tiles shaped like both the Upper and Lower Peninsulas and decorative beads, this ornament can be hung (on a tree, a wall, or anywhere else) at any time of the year when you want to celebrate Michigan, like today.
Artist Market Photographer Paul Rose Takes Second Place in Jurried Photography Show
Kudos to Artist Market photographer Paul Rose of Garden, Michigan, in the Upper Peninsula. Paul's black and white photo, Otto Marie, won the prize for Second Place in the Crooked Tree Arts Center 2014 Juried Photograph Exhibition. We have an excellent selection of Paul Rose's other photographs at the Northern Michigan Artists Market
New Artist Alert: Julie M. Covert
Welcome Julie to the Northern Michigan Artists Market. Julie is an amazing fine art nature photographer. She lives on Drummond Island, a great place to live if you love nature and enjoy photographing it. Julie is also a big fan of the beauty of winter, another major asset if you live on Drummond.
We are thrilled to have Julie's artwork at the Artists Market. Stop by some time soon and see her amazing book, Art of Winter, A Photographic Essay, and many of her fine photographs, many of which actually show Northern Michigan in the summer.
Look Inside the Artists Market
We have added a virtual tour of the inside of our Petoskey gallery. Check it out on our About Us page and our Northern Michigan Arts blog. This look inside tour also appears when we are in the results of a Google search.
