Dont Miss the Gallery Walk June 19 6-9pm
This is it! Why is the Gallery Walk so popular every year? Great art, great food, great friends, an afterglow party outdoors at the Perry and a drawing for artwork donated by the galleries. What's not to like! Join us as we stay open late on June 19th and get the 2014 art season off to a great start.
Marilyn Kelemen Featured in The Graphic
Marilyn Kelemen was featured in the May 29th issue of The Graphic, the local Petoskey arts and entertainment weekly. Once you read the fantastic Art Scene column article by Jordan Spence online or pick up The Graphic at locations all over Petoskey and the surrounding area, stop by the Northern Michigan Artists Market and check out Marilyn's incredible beaded jewelry creations in person.
New Artwork Alert:: Rosalyn Tyge
Rosalyn Tyge of Traverse City is an outstanding tile maker. She not only makes great tiles but she makes all kinds of amazing creations out of those tiles including tables, mirrors, coat racks, jewelry and now an all-season Michigan ornament.
Made from ceramic tiles shaped like both the Upper and Lower Peninsulas and decorative beads, this ornament can be hung (on a tree, a wall, or anywhere else) at any time of the year when you want to celebrate Michigan, like today.
Artist Market Photographer Paul Rose Takes Second Place in Jurried Photography Show
Kudos to Artist Market photographer Paul Rose of Garden, Michigan, in the Upper Peninsula. Paul's black and white photo, Otto Marie, won the prize for Second Place in the Crooked Tree Arts Center 2014 Juried Photograph Exhibition. We have an excellent selection of Paul Rose's other photographs at the Northern Michigan Artists Market
Artist Update -- Tonya Baumhardt
Artist Market watercolor artist Tanya Barnhardt and her delightful paintings of fairies are the big hit in the local media this month. Our friend Jordan Spence wrote a wonderful article about Tanya and her work in the May 8th issue of the Graphic . That followed Al Parker's article in the May 6 issue of Northern Express. Then, on May 12, Tanya completed the Northern Michigan arts trifecta with a very nice article in the News Review about the four week class she taught, Exploring Art with Nature and Fairies.
Follow the above links an read all of these articles. Then come to the Northern Michigan Artists Market and see our large selection of Tanya's fairies and other watercolors.
