Kudos Mary Reilly

We knew that Mary Reilly, Artists Market jewelry maker, just got back from a month in India but we thought she spent most of her time there searching for exotic beads for her incredible bracelets, necklaces and earrings.

Now we know the truth, thanks to a small article in the Petoskey News Review. She was actually perfecting her skills for her day job at North Woods Yoga. Turns out she spent a month of intensive study at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Institute and renowned yoga master B.K.S. Iyengar upgraded her teaching certification to Intermediate Senior II. (Of course, she did bring back some beads as well.)

Congratulations Mary for your hard work and your achievement and welcome back home!

Stop by the Artists Market to see Mary's artwork and contact North Woods Yoga at 316 1/2 East Mitchell (231) 526-5041 and sign up for a class.

Artist Market Artist E.P. Lewandowski Wins Major National Award

Award Winning Colored Pencil Drawing Falling Water IX by E.P. Lewandowski

E.P. Lewandowski, a colored pencil artist from Alpena, Michigan, received a major national award for his drawing, Falling Water IX. Lewandowski entered his drawing in The Colored Pencil Society of America's Explore This! 8 Exhibition and was awarded the Society's Great Explorations Award for Exceptional Achievement along with a cash prize of $1,500.

The juror for the Exhibition, Jane Allen Nodine, Professor of Art and Director of the Curtis R. Harley Art Gallery at the University of South Carolina said Lewandowski's Falling Water IX captured the ambiguity of reflection, transparency and motion in the rushing waters of a stream. At the Artists Market, we think Lewandowski's drawings of water do an amazing job of capturing the sound and motion of his subject.

We have featured Mr. Lewandowski's work at the Artists Market for several years and have a wide variety of his original pieces and high quality Giclee prints, including a print of the award winning Falling Water IX
