2015 Online Downtown Petoskey Holiday Catalog Coming Soon!
Downtown Petoskey merchants are putting together our second annual holiday catalog. We have picked out items from our stores. Some great Downtown photographers, including Artist Market photographer Lauren Pethers, have shot pix of the items. The Downtown Office is putting it all together as an online magazine and, new this year, also as a printed catalog.
Of course, the Northern Michigan Artists Market is doing its part. We have selected a representative sample of our wonderful Northern Michigan art.
When the online catalog comes out, around Thanksgiving, you will be able to click on the photos of our items (and those from other Downtown shops). Clicking on ours will take you right here to our website where you will be able to purchase these items or anything else from our gallery. We will let you know when it is ready.
Meanwhile, if you are in town, why not stop by today and have a look at our thousands of creations by over eighty wonderful artists from right here in Northern Michigan.
If you are not in the area, enjoy our online gallery right here on our website.
Public Art Update
While we are still waiting for Petoskey's Downtown Management Board to move forward on a proposal for a public art plan here in Petoskey, we thought you might like to see a creative idea blooming in Hamtramck. Canvases are everywhere! Read the full story in the New York Times. And get this, the artist who created the flower house is Lisa Waud of PETOSKEY!! Check out this update in the Detroit Free Press.
Artist Update -- Dan Clark
Artist Market painter Dan Clark is helping out the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund by being one of about twenty local artists who painted a turtle to be auctioned off by the Bay Harbor Foundation at a dinner and auction, Thursday, August 6, at the Bay Harbor Village Marina.
Dan calls his turtle Big Green. Kudos to Dan for being selected to participate and creating a beautiful turtle for a great cause.
New Artist Alert: Daisy Candles
Daisy Candles of Tawas is our newest artist. They make a delightful line of home made soy candles with natural wicks, scent and color blended for optimal fragrance and appearance.
The candles come in a wide variety of scents from Mackinaw Island Fudge to Motor City (with that new car smell). The Artists Market smells better already. Stop by and see, er sniff, for yourself.
Look Inside the Artists Market
We have added a virtual tour of the inside of our Petoskey gallery. Check it out on our About Us page and our Northern Michigan Arts blog. This look inside tour also appears when we are in the results of a Google search.
