During my career as a CFO with an automotive supplier, I would
take photographs to capture the beauty found while traveling and to relieve
much of the career stress. A few years ago, I left the corporate world and
began taking photography courses at OaklandCommunity College in Farmington Hills and found the hidden artist
in me. I am an avid black and white film
photographer, using the old fashioned method of dark room development to
produce my photos. My work has been on
display at OCC and LansingCommunity College in East Lansing,
and is currently on display at the Northern Michigan Artists Market in Petoskey, MI, and the
Gaylord Council of the Arts in Gaylord,
MI. I am working on a project called "Scenes
from the 45th Parallel" - a result of all the times I have driven Up
North and passed the sign at Gaylord for the 45th Parallel. It made me curious as to where else the 45th
meanders and I have shot scenes in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
I also love shooting photos that personalize one's surroundings - be it shadows
from a lace curtain in a cottage window, flip flops outside the back screen
door or children playing outside.I am
available to look for such scenes at your Up North residence and can be
contacted at luanneschonfeld@hotmail.com.
