Bergmann Center is a life skills building center for adults who are mentally and physically challenged in Charlevoix, Michigan. Its mission is: to provide Services that Enable Mentally and Physically Challenged Individuals to become Active Involved Members of the Community.The Bergmann Center provides quality services to meet the changing needs of adults with developmental disabilities or mental illness in Northern Michigan. It sub-contracts with local industry to provide piece rate work at the Bergmann Center, including packaging, assembly, hand/drill press, gauging and inspection at the industry's location. In addition, the Bergmann Center provides crew with supervision for cleaning services. The Northern Michigan Artists Market supports the Bergmann Center's work in several ways including selling products made by people at the Center, including their beautiful glass mosaic candle holders called Lovelights and their firestarters, made from recycled materials.
