Artist: Nancy Postle Hendrix
Artistic expression can take many forms and be sparked by seemingly unrelated things. My painting began with my sisters and me painting glassware for breast cancer. Creating displays for Williams-Sonoma and working with the colors and textures of food allowed Nancy to make the ordinary things that surround us into works of art. Studying acrylics, pastels, and drawing at the South Bend Regional Museum of Art allows her freedom to experiment in her artistic journey and confirms it's never too late to find your passion. Now working in acrylics she finds herself drawn to an intense color palette.|
In addition to the Northern Michigan Artists Market, Nancy's artwork can be seen at Circa Arts Gallery. Shows include Art Beat, Transit of Venus, Creations for a Cause, Cincinnati Garden Club Show, Student Faculty Art Show at the South Bend Regional Museum of Art ( winning best of show in 2003), Bistro On The Race, Lemon Creek Winery Art Show, To Your Health Gallery of Caring, and two shows at Glance Eyware Gallery, one of which was a one-man show.
