Elisa loved and enjoyed drawing ever since she was very little. As a child she enjoyed drawing horses and large cats such as panthers, bobcats and tigers and would take orders from the other kids on her bus ride home from school. In her early teens her creativity shown through again as she started making jewelry and selling it in shops in Upper and Lower Michigan. All through her teen years she also developed another love -- traveling to car shows and taking pictures of classic and customized cars and pick-ups. When it came time to get her first car she got a Dodge Dakota Sport and, with the money she got from graduation (hopefully contributors won't read this), had it customized. She decided to pursue her love of art and went to Sienna Heights University where she obtained a bachelors degree in graphic design. In her last two years of college, she took watercolor classes. She really enjoyed this medium and considered the possibility of using this technique in her future somehow. After receiving her degree, Elisa started working in the picture frame department at a Hobby Lobby chain store in Southeast Michigan and later became the custom framing manager. There she learned custom framing and how to carefully conserve and preserve artwork. She continued in the custom framing business after moving to to the Northern Lower Peninsula, working at Dockside Gallery in St. Ignace and then at Art Matters in Cheboygan. While working at Dockside Gallery, she decided to combine her love of classic cars and watercolor by doing paintings based on the photos she had taken at car shows. Elisa now enjoys the opportunity of having people give her pictures of their own classic cars and letting her give them a watercolor painting of their pride and joy. | |||||||||
