Artist: Kellison King

As spontaneously colorful and intricately detailed as the artist herself, Kellison’s watercolors speak clearly of her intensity, integrity and optimistic attitude.  Her vibrant and happy miniatures (the size of a business card) adorn local menus, catalogs, phone books and water bottle labels, as well as the walls of many a collector wishing to take home a little piece of Northern Michigan’s beauty.

Best known for her paintings of the local Petoskey and Harbor Springs area, Kellison claims that design is her real passion. I just delight in watching the pieces come together...ANY pieces!, she effuses when one comments on the diverse range of her artistry: drawing, photography, clothing and needlework art, carpentry, decorating, sculpting, calligraphy, costumes, graphics, advertising (even radio), poetry and painting in just about every size, medium, and subject matter.

She spends a great part of her time creating commercial graphics–especially in support of the arts. Kellison won a national cereal box coloring contest at the age of nine and sees that event as foreshadowing artistic expression as the one constant in her widely diverse life experiences.

A philosopher at heart, her latest creations are commentary on her life views and personal paradigm.
